Are you wondering why Chappelle’s show is no longer available on Netflix? Because the comedian or the main personality of the show Dave Chappelle asked more like requested Netflix to remove it.
This three-season show just started to telecast on Netflix and started on November 1. It’s not been even a month since Netflix decided to remove the comedy series as Dave Chappelle wanted it to boycott on any platform it has been streaming on.
He posted a story on Instagram and if you are watching it then prepare yourself and get some popcorns because you will be feeling to many bombs dropping as in surprises.
Dave Chappelle In His Instagram Video
The comedian just posted a video on Instagram with the caption Unforgiven and “this is why?”
Dave was really upset to not have authority of the license of the stream. If you don’t know then the Netflix has been granted the rights of streaming and the license of the show by the Viacom CBS deal. But Chappelle himself was never given the rights and license of his own show “Chappelle’s show” which made him really upset.
He wrote, “I called them and I told them that this makes me feel bad” and then he further added, “And you want to know what they did? They agreed that they would take it off their platform just so I could feel better.”
This isn’t as selfless of Netflix as it sound from the Chappelle. After all, maintaining relationship with the comedian when their competitors are signing way bigger project is more important for Netflix.
Boycott Me Says Dave
He urges his fan to watch the series if they ever like him. He later on explained that by doing this you aren’t promoting boycotting culture or banning someone but you will be boycotting me which will be a help for me later.
What do you think about this step of Viacom? According to us the first party to have royalties and the right of licensing from the show is the main lead actor which is Dave Chappelle.
